U.S. MARSHALS ARREST SOUTH CAROLINA FUGITIVE IN ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA.

States News Service December 2, 2010 GREENVILLE, S.C. — The following information was released by the United States Marshals Service:

The U.S. Marshals led fugitive task force Operation Intercept announce the arrest of Kendrick Darnell Littlejohn on Tuesday November 30th, 2010. Littlejohn was wanted for Failure to Appear on November 9th, 2010 for the underlying charge of Assault and Battery with Intent to Kill on April 27th, 2010 in Greenville County, SC. Greenville County Sheriff’s Office requested Operation Intercept’s assistance on November 15th, 2010 in locating and apprehending Littlejohn.

Operation Intercept developed information that led them to Asheville, NC where they believed Littlejohn had fled. Deputy Marshals from Greenville, SC and Asheville, NC along with Deputy Sheriff’s from Anderson County, Greenville County, Spartanburg County, and Pickens County located Littlejohn at an apartment complex on Hazel Street in Asheville, NC. Law Enforcement made entry into the apartment and discovered Littlejohn hiding in an upstairs bedroom behind furniture and took him into custody without incident. U.S. Marshal Kelvin Washington for the District of South Carolina stated: “The broad joint efforts of cooperation have again proven fruitful in the apprehension of another fugitive. Littlejohn will soon be returned to Greenville County to face his alleged crimes.” Established in 1789, the United States Marshals Service is the nation’s oldest federal law enforcement agency. In fiscal 2009, the Marshals arrested more than 36,400 federal fugitives, clearing 39,400 felony warrants. Marshal’s Service-led task forces like South Carolina’s Operation Intercept arrested 90,800 state and local fugitives, clearing 117,000 felony warrants. Locally, Operation Intercept arrested over 2,500 South Carolina fugitives during that same period.
