What Government Shutdown?

Asking me to take a side with the democrats and republicans in the current ‘government shutdown’ issue is a bit like asking me if I want to pass a law to shoot my mother to death or stab my mother to death. I don’t want my mother shot or stabbed. I don’t want her dead. both options suck and are unacceptable.

I will admit that when I first hear talk of a government shutdown I get a warm fuzzy feeling. I begin to imagine the end to funding murder across the globe, prison cells being opened to set the victims of the state free and no more armed state agents paroling the highway. If only it were that good. The reality is that any of those wonderful sounding things were a part of a government shut down I would be all over this stuff promoting a shutdown. The reality is that this shutdown is anything but anarchy. It’s more of a middle class layoff.

The biggest impact of a government shutdown would be that many government employees would not be getting paid. Except for people in the house and senate and of course the figurehead. The rulers would still get their money. Their paychecks are covered under ‘mandatory spending’. So the government isn’t shutting down, it’s just not finding the little guys. Looking at this I can say one positive outcome of a government shutdown would be that of potential revolution. This is mostly a daydream. If the state employees were cut off the ideal reaction would be that of their taking ownership of many services they provide and syndicalizing or mutualizing the resources outside of the state. We could begin to socialize resources outside of the state giving those who sue resources ownership or we could begin to give workers ownership of the products of their labor. Most likely both of these could and would occur depending on the nature of the resource. The reality is that the state will not let the situation become that pressing where many will feel the need to do such a thing. Sadly, most employees are most likely not thinking of such revolutionary actions.

There is nothing anti-state about the Republican actions in this issue. They are proposing cutting spending that would not even amount to a single percent from social programs. Cutting social programs is not an answer to eliminating the state. Many of those are monopolized by the state and have not been liberated to begin with so it is more of a damage to those who use them. The problem with the state is not found in paying for health care or food. The problem is the aggressive force of the state. The republican budget assumes that funding the aggressive force is a given and attacks social programs while propping up the military industrial complex. It’s a joke. The crux of the state is defended by these republicans who are campaigning to save a fraction of a percent at the expense of the poor and working class. Redistribution of wealth has occurred, wealth has been redistributed from the poor and working class to the rulers, and they are willing to continue paying themselves with the money they took while they deny the services they claim to provide with the stolen money.

This has little impact on our daily lives in relation to the tyranny of the state. The Republicans have put that at the forefront of their battle. They intend on completely funding their murder squads. The federal courts will still run for a while if the ‘government shutdown’ occurs. The rulers will have a new budget in place way before their courts are close to closing. The state and local government which is possibly the biggest tyrant in all this will still be trucking along. They are not the federal government. So, state agents will still chain, shoot and lock citizens in cages.

Is there a positive in any of this? Not realistically. The state will pass a budget a fraction of a percent lower than originally proposed. The military industrial complex will not loose a dime. The military is covered under essential personnel and won’t be staying home either. The government is not shrinking or cutting back at all. At the most it’s slowing it’s growth by a fraction of a percent. The state will go on. The whole stink really only amounts to nothing more than Republicans putting on a show for some ‘Tea Party’ and Democrats putting on a show for their ‘Progressives’. At least McCaskill spoke some sense when she stated that congress shouldn’t get paid in the suthdown if it occurs.

Is there a solution to this issue? Can the state make a move that is positive? Yes, and yes. The state can shutdown completely, not this half ass shutdown. The people can take control of the resources and turn them into stateless solutions. Will this happen? Not right now.

That’s right Republicans  you show them! Shut down tourist attractions!

Similiar situation to the conservatives in the UK. Minarchists are claiming this is what they’ve always hoped for but really it’s about cutting off lowly bureaucrats and the like ,while continuing monopoly on law, large military spending and large privileges to their friends.Basically the true nature of the state is becoming apparent i.e. it’s a tax funded tribal criminal gang.
