Government & Phillip Morris Corporatism at it’s finest
Sep 28, 2009 Corporatism, Politics, Senate
Well, here we go. After last weeks tobacco story, (Click here to read it) I have read more that has upset me. Phillip Morris wanted to look good so they decided to go with a fresh new name that sounds appealing. Instead of being Phillip Morris the largest big tobacco corporation, they are Altria, the do-gooders who spent 3.9 million in lobbying (Click here) and co-wrote the new tobacco flavor ban. If you look at this for a minute, you begin to see who paid for this and who benefits. The largest of the “big tobacco” corporations just eliminates massive competition via legislation. The only flavor they offer is menthol which is the flavor protected under the law. I’m starting to see how this legislation helps children. We get rid of the competition. We make more money. We buy legislation to achieve this. We pay our representatives. We profit from being one of the last products on the shelves. I see how that was for the kids.
I beg those of you who smoke, please boycott Phillip Morris products.
Then Phillip Morris joins in the campaign to stop “illegal importers” (Click Here) their crusade to protect law and decency, not the attempt to block the competition at all. Nope, they are concerned about children, law and order.
This is the shining example of Corporatism that Michael Moore ignorantly calls Capitalism. This is big government. This is what we should be vigilant about and speaking against in the 6:00 news. This should be illegal.
SO, please digg this, tweet this, and pass this one on. Let’s stop turning our heads as these bastards railroad our liberty for personal gain.
Don’t forget about pop tax, and how we warned this would happen when they first came after smokers.
