I so agree. I frequently refer to our 'societal addiction'. Money, also known as "the root of all evil" tops the list. Americans are not just addictted to wealth, power, video games, Alcohol & numerous illicit, prescription drugs, sex, food, work, gambling and on & on. We are also addicted w/ a 'fix it now' 'get it now'
social mentallity. I often wonder what thought goes in an individuals decision as to who will rep. them, from the neighborhood watch/ commitee- to the President of our country. I can't seem to figure out the best way to choose a "leader"- the H.S. Prom popuality may work- or the one with the loudest voice/ or megaphone whos name & words revererate--over&over*in my head. I guess we always have 'shut those eyes were do we land' multiple-choice? I, oh how I hope, we as a society would start to become more enlightened- stop to smell the flowers (just because)soon they to will be genetically perfect, or read a book, not to say you did, not self-help, the author takes you into another place, extasy, terror -whatever. The words that color all the images in your head, maybe they grab you- a movie so real- what beautiful numeric groupings. One by one- someday the co-worker across from you will come back from lunch w/ a smile and a 'knowing, I'm ALIVE'

This is where you and I are in complete agreement. This county is addicted to quick fixes and artificial highs in our banking as we are in anything else. All this Easy Money won't do much in the end but pump us up and wear us out.

Though I am not a libertarian I enjoy your work here and have added you to my Blogroll.

I don't quite share in your economic views on regulations but I enjoy reading your work.
