Punk Johnny Cash

I am Punk Johnny Cash, the main contributor to the site. I began to look at libertarian ideas of John Stossel, Robert Nozick and others in the mid nineties when I was just beginning to leave high school and vote.  I am a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.  My experience in the Marine Corps only reinforced and furthered my beliefs against a state.  As years progressed I found myself drifting to a more Anarcho perspective. I find it difficult to support any state concepts at this point. I was further influenced by the writings of Proudhon and Rothbard.  I am also drawn strongly to concepts of volunteerism.  I am a registered Libertarian.  I am not a conservative constitutionalist libertarian which seems to be the new fad lately.  I might be described as a more liberal anti-statist libertarian, a left libertarian, mutualist, voluntaryist or an Anarchist . W Edwin Hinds IV

W Edwin Hinds IV is a rational propertarian market anarchist, or what can besummed up as a post-left Agorist. His pertinent socio-political positions, summed up laconically as possible: It is impossible to defend anything the government (state, municipal or federal) achieves, because it is funded by theft and enforced with violence or coercion. He believes thievery and coercion are abhorrent no matter what label you assign to it. W. Edwin Hinds IV doesn’t vote and is no perfect man, you can find that out for yourself along with other interesting political positions he maintains on his blog Fed Land. Jay Batman

I’m a Libertarian who misses Harry Browne, plays guitar, does political activism and attacks life with a gusto. I believe in market based approaches to life: you’ll figure out what works and what doesn’t on your own, through accountability, reward, and consequence.

I believe government exists to defend, promote, and even expand individual liberties before all else so that men can choose virtue of their own volition. I oppose compulsory efforts by any state to promote virtue, as I believe such efforts are utterly useless. Laws do not prevent crime, they merely identify behaviors as criminal and prescribe a particular process in the event that such behaviors occur. You can follow me @momus1978

Zachary Linowitz

I am a second-year student at Duke University School of Law. I currently work for the North Carolina Capital Defender and the North Carolina ACLU. Before moving to the South, I wrote feature articles about social justice, righteous nonprofit organizations, and land conservation for newspapers and magazines across New England. I am not a libertarian or an anarchist or an anti-statist or a freemarketeer. While I generally disapprove of our political leaders, I do not find the idea of Government inherently loathsome. First and foremost, above the dictates of any ideology, I support whatever is in the best interests of the People. I support economic equity, racial and social justice, gender equality, and free speech. It is a pleasure and an honor to be a member of the Gonzo Times community. Ralph

My name is Ralph. I believe that the power of the individual should be protected by the government. Individuals have the right to live as they choose as long as they bring no harm to others. My views are heavily influenced by the philosophies of Nietzsche, Krishnamurti, and Voltaire among others. Ralph is the administrator of Gonzo Times. You can follow him @exis10s
