A Case For Self-Governance: The Business of Peace
Jan 18, 2010 A Case For Self-Governance, Anti-State, Anti-War, Police State, Social Issues
I feel peace is a good topic for Martin Luther King Jr’s Birthday. It was not planned like that, it just happened that way.
War is the governments business and business is good. From military imperialism to militarized police the government is in the business of death and theft. The government is in the business of forcing people to do what it wants with its guns. We discussed in A Case Against Government Part 1: Police State how police are not for the people but to serve the interest of the state. I would like to expand on a concept that Stefan Molyneux of Free Domain Radio proposed in his Lew Rockwell article The Stateless Society: An Examination of Alternatives. The idea is the the Dispute Resolution Organization (DRO). I would like to point out the business of peace can be a highly marketable thing to sell as opposed to the business of war which brings financial disaster, death and destruction.
A DRO is described on Wikipedia as:
a conceptualized organization providing services such as mediation and arbitration through the private sector.
This is his answer to the common question and objection of the statist, “What about Police?” No, we do not need police but we do have disputes that need a resolution. Will it end rape? No, but it will come closer to ending violence and rape than any police force or government entity has proven capable of doing. We see their failure in the fact that these issues still have little resolution or advancements, only a culture that reacts with vengeance towards people.

Hate, violence, murder, oppression, war, and rape are disgusting tragedies that are realities of our government. We must not be silent. We must speak out on behalf of those who have no voice and power. Look at the true nature of governments.
A case against government Part 3: State Violence

It occurred to me that there may be those out there who read this site and still do not comprehend my philosophy. I think people loose me when they argue what the role government should have. I ask if we should have a government. My answer is no. I think a good place to start is to look at is what I call State Violence. In order to accept the existence of a state you must accept state violence. A state has no way to force it’s will upon the people without threat of force. In order for a state to exist it must embrace two basic forms of violation. These are theft and violence. The state exists as a parasitic entity that is destructive to both the host and itself.
I am convinced I should have started my series “A Case Against Government” with this article. It is the heart and base of all government power and violations.

The Afghan War: “Why and to What End?”

US Troops in Afghanistan
A Washington Post article today makes an account of a Marine Corps Captain, Matthew Hoh, who resigned his post in protest of the war in Afghanistan. He states:
“I have lost understanding of and confidence in the strategic purposes of the United States’ presence in Afghanistan…I have doubts and reservations about our current strategy and planned future strategy, but my resignation is based not upon how we are pursuing this war, but why and to what end.”
I find this story heartening. After 8 years, thousands of American soldiers dead or wounded, and hundreds of billions of dollars spent in Afghanistan, we have accomplished virtually nothing, and have in fact, made our political situation in the Middle East much worse. Unfortunately, our interventionist foreign policy will likely keep us there for another 8, or even 80, years. War is a great tool for controlling people, confiscating both their wealth and freedoms. I would like to see more military men and women stand up for America and her interests in the manner that Captain Hoh did. I do not blame our soldiers for America’s destructive foreign policy, but the simple fact remains that their compliance with it makes America’s pursuit of this type of interventionism possible, and with it, individual liberties in America are eroded away daily.

Anti-War Protest at White House today
Oct 6, 2009 Anti-War, Fear And Loathing, Police State, Politics

The anti-war movement is protesting outside of the White House today. The President used deceptive wording in his speeches when he was campaigning. Many believed he was Anti-War, but have come to find out that he is just another Bush when it comes down to it. He may use a more politically correct tone when discussing, but we have not seen this fabled Change.
