Tips For Taking Great Car Selfies

T
Car selfies

Now that Instagram is the main photo-sharing site on the web, one of the most popular types of photos to take are selfies. Most people put filters on their selfies before posting them, but if you want to stand out from all the other selfies on your feed, you should consider taking car selfies.

This is a type of selfie where the backdrop is a car. There are a few things you can do to make sure your car selfie looks great.

Location

The first thing to consider when taking a car selfie is the location. You want to find a spot that will show off your car in the best light. If it’s a sunny day, try shooting in direct sunlight. This will create a beautiful, golden glow. If it’s overcast, shoot in the shade. The diffused light will create a softer look.

Shoot in direct sunlight

If you’re shooting in direct sunlight, make sure to avoid harsh shadows. You can do this by positioning your car so that the sun is behind you. This will also help to highlights its curves and shape.

In direct sunlight, you can also take advantage of the sun’s warmth to create a more intimate selfie. Try leaning against your car door with one arm on the roof and turn slightly towards the camera so that it catches a side view of your face. With a little lighting trickery, this will look like a beautiful sunset shot.

Shoot during the golden hour

It’s usually best to take car selfies during the morning or evening hours, during the “golden hour”. The color of the sky will be more interesting and it’ll produce better lighting for your selfie. If you’re not living in a place with drastic changes between day and night, you can try using false lighting like street lamps or other fixtures that simulate sunlight.

Take multiple photos

When taking a car selfie, the most important thing is to take multiple photos and choose the best one later. Keeping this in mind, you should always have your phone’s camera ready to snap a quick picture. You never know when a photogenic moment is going to happen.

Be aware of the background

If you really want your car selfie to stand out, consider paying attention to the background. This includes everything from the buildings in the skyline behind your car to what’s on or around it. You might find that changing even just one thing about the scene can make for an interesting car selfie.

If the building in your backdrop is interesting, focus on that instead of your car. This can be a great way to get people’s attention and up-vote counts on social media sites like Reddit. If there are other cars in the shot, consider taking photos with them. The more cars you include, the more interesting the photo will be.

Including people in your car selfie can also make for a more interesting shot. Ask a friend to stand next to your car or get in the driver’s seat and take a selfie. Just make sure you’re not in any legal trouble if you decide to do this!

Posing

When it comes to posing for a car selfie, there are a few things to keep in mind. You want to make sure you look good in the photo, but you also want to make sure the car is the star of the show.

One way to do this is by using props. If you have a cool car accessory, hold it up in front of your face to take your selfie. If you don’t, you can always improvise. For example, if you see a cool background, like a statue or building, place the car in front of it for an interesting shot.

More tips

For best results, try taking selfies with different poses and using various filters. When uploading photos to social media sites like Instagram, use hashtags that will attract people who are interested in cars. This will help you to find others with similar interests and get feedback on your photos.

In the end, taking great car selfies is all about being creative and having fun. So go out and shoot some photos! You never know when you might capture a great shot.

How To Write The Perfect Instagram Captions For Your Selfies

H
Instagram selfie captions

Have you ever looked at your friend’s amazing selfies and wished that yours were just as good? Well, look no further! Here are some easy tips for how to write the perfect Instagram caption.

Rhyming and Aliteration

Make sure it rhymes!  If it doesn’t rhyme, make sure it alliterates. Rhyming or alliterating is a great way to make your caption stand out and be more memorable.

Keep It Short

Don’t go too long! Longer captions are less popular.  Keep your caption only one or two lines, so it doesn’t look too overwhelming for people to read.

Be Relatable

Be relatable! Captions that are relatable always do well.  If you can relate your Instagram selfie to something popular or trendy, it will increase the odds that people like and comment on your picture.

Hashtags

Include hashtags! Did you know that posts without hashtags receive 21% LESS engagement than posts with them?  Add as many relevant hashtags as possible, but don’t go overboard!  15 hashtags is the max.

Add Location

Adding a location to your selfie is a great way to get likes and comments.  It’s also a good way to start conversations with people who are visiting the same place.

Emojis

Use emojis! Emojis are a great way to add personality to your caption and make it more engaging. Always  include at least one emoji!  Emojis are a great way to convey emotion and make your caption more relatable.

Don’t overdo it with emojis!  Including just one or two relevant emojis will attract attention and potentially entice more people to engage with your picture.  Make sure they fit in naturally, though, or else they’ll look forced and might not get the reaction you’re hoping for.

Call To Actions

Include a call to action! A call to action is a great way to encourage your followers to take action, whether it’s to like the photo, comment on it, or even follow you.

Examples:

Here are a few examples of good Instagram captions that fit into these categories:

“Call me maybe? 😅😉💘 #savage #thirstythursday”

“Hey! 😊 Like my selfie if you think I look cute in this hat. 👔”

“I wish everybody could have as much fun as I do, but until then, you can follow me 😉 #followforfollowback”

Kik App Will Get You Killed

K

She’d been missing for a month when investigators finally found her, and fortunately, she was still alive.

Having disappeared without a trace from her home in Cleveland, the 15-year-old girl was only found due to her 41-year-old kidnapper’s carelessness, as he logged on to her Facebook account and actually sent messages to her friends, which Facebook used to help locate the girl and her abductor.

He’d taken her from Cleveland to his home in Missouri, hundreds of miles away, and to keep her from alerting anyone to the situation, he destroyed her cellphone, the very device that had lead to the abduction.

How did a 15 year old girl come in contact with a 41 year old predator? An app, of course, and one that has had a very creepy history, as it was used by two college students to murder a 13 year old girl, and it is frequented by sexual predators intent on soliciting videos and photos from under age kids; the app is called Kik, and frankly, it will get you killed.

This death trap was created back in 2009 by some Canadian college students, but of course, it wasn’t their intention to create an app that would be perfect for selling drugs or taking advantage of children.

Kik is an anonymous messaging app that is hugely popular among teens, as it is free and features the ability send GIFs and photos and video, along with special emojis only found on Kik, which is something kids actually care about.

If you’re on Kik, you have a username, but other than that, there’s no way to identify anyone; the app doesn’t require a phone number to sign up, so all you need is a bogus email and you can message any of the 275 million people on Kik as long as you know their username.

This anonymity may be intended to protect it’s users, but this is a double-edged sword, as it means those bad guys on Kik are protected as well. Why did Kik go this route rather than set up a place for people to message people they know?

Well, that’s been done before, and it seems like they wanted to connect the world. Only thing is, the world kinda sucks.

The “world” has flocked to this app, as more than a quarter of a billion people use this app in countries across the globe, but when you get a large amount of users, some of them are bound to have bad intentions.

Drug dealing is very easy on Kik, as you’re as anonymous as you want to be, and whenever you hit up some sketchy dude for bunk weed, there’s no need to worry about the Feds joining your little get-together, as the messages are only stored on the devices that sent and received the messages; Kik claims they couldn’t access any messages if they tried.  The other popular use to Kik is kik sexting – which has led to multiple problems.

Whenever you send an unwanted dick pic or that bag of coke you’re selling, once it’s read it is deleted from Kik’s servers, but before that moment, Kik can still see it.

On an anonymous app designed to help you connect with total randy’s (random people), you’re ‘protected’ by not revealing your identity, but anyone can message you as long as they guess your username correctly, which isn’t very difficult.

Whenever a predator is on the hunt for some unsuspecting teen, all they need to do is throw out some usernames, and once they find someone they like, they can send them a message.

You can block people and prevent new people from messaging you, but how many kids have those features activated on their devices?

For kids who are willing to branch out and message people across their state or across the country (and have those security measures removed), they are at risk of being deceived by predators, and when everyone’s identity is protected, how can you really be sure someone is who they say they are?

It’s super easy to grab pictures of someone off the internet and pose as them, even taking information from social media to sound just like whoever predators are pretending to be.

It’s no secret that teens and kids are easier to manipulate than adults, and when there are millions of them on one app, predators flock to join them.

This app was designed to connect people and let you communicate with whoever you want, but it’s so easy to set up a fake profile and pretend to be someone you are not; when your kids send out a message to some username, how long will it take for them to find out if it’s another kid or some adult intent on doing something terrible?

The intentions behind Kik are good, but with few protections at hand for its users, this app doesn’t care so much about connecting good people with good people as it is simply connecting the online world. The only caveat is that the online world isn’t very safe.

Best Tips For Girl Selfies

B

Everyone wants their selfie game to be strong; that’s the ultimate goal of social media.

Unfortunately, so many people have no idea what they’re doing while snapping pictures of themselves. Girls end up looking drab instead of fab, and honestly just plain bad.

Not only that but cheesy captions and poorly times posts can ruin your selfie just as much.

Sadly, most girls out there don’t take the time to do their research on what girl selfies strategies are the best. Fortunately, today we’re breaking down the best tips for girl selfies. Guys, if you’re curious to read on, but this is for girls only.

1. Know your lighting

Bad lighting can ruin a selfie. It’s like a cardinal rule, so you better pay attention. Bad lighting like fluorescent and bright, unnatural light does little to help our skin and hair.

It can make girls look washed out, and highlight flaws such as blemishes, oily skin, and flyaway hairs. Typically, dimmer lighting is super flattering for everyone.

You know the saying everyone looks better in candlelight?

\Well, it’s true! Also, generally, outside natural light is very flattering and highlights girls feature way better than artificial light.

Although these tips will help you, remember that it could differ and change for each person, so try options out to find what works for you.

2. Do what works for you.

Sure, this is a very general tip, but it might be the most important too. There are so many social media models and supermodels out there that average girls want so desperately to impersonate.

You’ll see an outfit, or a pose, or an edit- truly anything- and might want to try it for yourself. While we encourage you to experiment, don’t force yourself to take a particular selfie because that’s what you see everyone else doing it.

For example, if you know you look bad with lip liner and lip stain, but you want to look like all the make-up heavy models on Instagram- don’t!

Or if you’re encouraged to take a half-nude selfie because everyone else is reconsider.

Do what works for you. People will know when you’re trying to be something you’re not. Stay true to who you are and what you like and run with it.

3. Don’t post too many.

Some girls can get away with posting loads and loads of girl selfies (models, celebrities) but average girls like you and me can’t. If you post selfie after selfie on social media people will label you as a selfie whore or a narcissist.

Switch it up and maybe post one selfie for every 5-6 pictures. It’s important to keep a balance on your social media profiles. If you’re not famous, no one cares about your face that much, we hate to tell you.

People will get annoyed with you and hit the unfollow button. Becoming more conscious of this will also allow you to only post the best selfies.

4. Choose fitting captions.

You might think that a selfie is great or bad simply based on the picture, but that’s not true. Believe it or not, a caption can make or break a selfie. Haven’t you seen a selfie of a girl in a bikini, then the caption is some cheesy quote about the future?

Yeah, we’re sure you can come up with a million other examples of captions that simply didn’t work with girl selfies. If you can’t think of a fitting caption, put no caption or just a few fitting emojis.

Trust us, that’s a way better option than putting depressing song lyrics or a corny quote that is totally irrelevant. Be mindful of what works and what doesn’t. You can do this by going on the explore page and looking at other examples.

5. Post at the right time.

One of the worst outcomes of posting a selfie is getting a low amount of likes. No matter how vain it is, everyone wants to get a ton of likes on their selfie. One of the fastest ways to get a low number of likes is posting it at the wrong time.

The worst times to post a selfie is early in the morning or in the middle of the day, say noonish. Early in the morning is bad because people are up and getting ready for work or class, so they’re not checking their social media.

Middle of the day, people are in work or class, so they’re not on their phones. The prime time to post a selfie is 7 pm or later, because everyone is home, winding down, and checking their phones because they have the time.

6. Switch it up.

If you always post the same kind of selfies, you’ll damage your likes and your followers, because you’re boring.

Switch it up by trying different angles, poses, sceneries, and more. There are so many ways to make your selfie more interesting than simply a face shot while you’re sitting in your bedroom.

Take advantage of the situations you’re in to take a great selfie. Examples of this would be traveling, seeing a funny poster, seeing a cool backdrop in a cafe- anything. Be creative and change up your selfies so that you don’t become totally predictable.

7. Don’t be cliche.

Everyone hates cliches because they’re overdone and tired. Don’t do the selfie cliches, like duck face, skanky poses on the bed or god forbid the peace sign.

All of these cliche selfie options and more have been done over and over again, so it’s best to let it die. You don’t want to be that cliche person that everyone makes fun of for trying too hard.

Why Teen Selfies Have Bad Consequences

W

Everyone takes selfies, and it might not be a surprise to anyone that teens take the most. It makes sense; teenagers are living during a time where they want to impress everyone. They want attention, friends, and to be popular among their peers.

To achieve all that in 2016, you need to have a dope set of social media accounts with tons of hot selfies, followers, and compelling content. But there are some appalling consequences to teen selfies that a lot of people are unfortunately not aware of.

Everything from sex trafficking to eating disorders can result from a teen’s obsession and irresponsible use of selfies. Today, we will break down these dangerous risks for you before it’s too late for you or someone you care about.

1. Bullying.

Teenagers are ruthless, mean and insensitive human beings. Their brains aren’t fully developed so they don’t comprehend the trauma that can come from bullying and teasing.

Well, let us paint a picture for you. A teen posts a selfie that looks super edited because he/she is trying to impress their peers and look as good as possible. Unfortunately, instead of being doted over for looking flawless, other teens catch on and bully the person for being fake/ editing their pictures/ being a phony.

Or they post a selfie and people harass them for being fat, ugly, or cake-faced. Public comments on teen selfies on social media are emotionally crippling and mortifying and can make teenagers feel depressed and useless.

Sadly, bullying leads to social isolation, depression, and worst- self-harm or suicide. This is one of the most dangerous consequences of taking selfies as a teenager.

2. Nude selfies.

Teenagers also don’t comprehend the dire consequences of sending a nude selfie to one or multiple people. The fellow teenager that receive the nude selfie of the teen could do a number of traumatic things.

This includes posting it online and sending it to others in a mass text. The teen sending the selfie could be under the impression that their intended recipient will be the only one that sees it, but sadly that’s usually not the case.

Of course, nude selfies are an even bigger reason for bullying among teens than the ones that we mentioned earlier. Teen selfies that are nude can lead to something extremely dangerous and illegal, which we will talk about next.

3. Nude picture trafficking.

If you google teen selfies, you’ll see dozens of sites soliciting “sexy” and “nude” selfies of teens. While some of the pictures might be on there by choice, no doubt that some of them have been found illegally through social media sites and other forums.

The last thing you want is your intimate picture online for millions of perverts to see.

This is violating, dangerous, and obviously traumatizing. Additionally, once something is on the web, it’s there forever, and will no doubt haunt you and cause trouble for you in the future.

4. Eating disorders.

Teenage girls are some of the most likely people to fall victim to a cruel and crippling eating disorder.

Will all of the stick-skinny models in magazines and even just Instagram models, there is an insane amount of pressure on young girls to be thin.

This pressure combined with the stress of being popular and liked among their peers can lead young teen girls to develop an eating disorder.

They want to look as thin as possible in their teen selfies, and this obsession can turn fatal. Eating disorders are often dismissed as a mental issue, but when it goes as far as to shut someone’s body down, death is likely.

5. Social media obsession.

As if teens needed another reason to be obsessed with social media, selfies take the cake. Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat are dominated by selfies.

Everyone wants to take the hottest, funniest, most “liked” selfie on social media, which just fuels the obsession. If you thought teens were glued to their phones before the selfie craze came about, you were sorely mistaken. Selfies have made teenagers that more obsessed and unwilling to separate from their phone at all times.

We’re sure you’ve seen those douche bag teenagers taking selfies at every opportune moment, including at funerals and prestigious museums. Sorry folks, but we don’t think this will cease anytime soon.

6. Death by selfie.

You might think that dying from taking a selfie is a plot for a shitty indie movie that will never make it, but it’s true. Teens die for a selfie. Back in February of this year, an Indian teenager was run over by a train while he attempted to take a selfie. In another case, a teen tried to take a selfie with a gun and ended up shooting himself. Another teen tried to take a picture on top of a train and fell to her death. How insane is that? That people can die from taking a selfie. It’s the most needless and senseless way to die that we can ever imagine.

We hope that you take these consequences of teen selfies seriously because they are dangerous, likely, and deadly.

As a teenager, you should be focusing on a lot of other things in your life instead of obsessing over a selfie. As you can see, you can get yourself into a mess of consequences if you continue to take selfies.
